This past week has been absolutely crazy. Last Thursday, I moved into my South Campus apartment and did all the unpacking stuff. Friday I went to a PawSox game against the Syracuse SkyChiefs and saw that even our AAA team can't win. Sharleen came on Friday night(!!), and by Saturday we were moved in and completely exhausted. Because of medication from my wisdom teeth deal, there was no drinking that weekend, just unpacking.
Amy, Jen, Sharleen, and I went to the New York State Fair on Sunday. We went to go see the big concert they had that night featuring Jen's female crushes, Danity Kane. They were opening for the Black Eyed Peas. They were cute, but you could tell they were a last minute fill-in and weren't completely ready to do a full set. They only did four songs, one of which was shortened. Their audio sucked, but they said they just got off the plane, and I believe them, they clearly didn't have time to do a sound-check. The Black Eyed Peas were really good. I'm not their biggest fans, but their music is dance music, so you're guaranteed a good time, even if you have to suffer through "London Bridges." God, I hate that song. I've been really busy since then and am only just now getting the pictures off my camera. Oops.
Classes started last Monday and I think I like all of them. The only one I'm worried about it my FIA class, it just seems boring, but I have Mallory to entertain me. ComLaw I think I will love, if I can show up on a regular basis. It's Tue/Thur at 8am and I got there in plenty of time on Tuesday, but there was an alarm clock incident on Thursday. I'm working on it.
Tuesday night we went to Faegans for the beer tour. I didn't do the beer tour, because it's cheaper not to, the boys like it for the prestige (I think). All week it's been reunion after reunion. I'm seeing people that I haven't seen since London, and people I haven't seen since last fall. It's been a good experience, it's always nice to hear that you've been missed. I didn't do Flip Night at Faegan's on Wednesday and both Sharleen and I took Thursday off. But Friday and Saturday were crazy.
Friday we went to Chucks and had the much delayed reunion with Katie, one of our Scotland buddies. Missed that girl like crazy. After Chucks, I went to a party at Thomas' on Avondale with Mallory and her boyfriend Jamie who was up to visit. We kind of ditched Sharleen at Chucks cuz she disappeared. We took a stroll through Thornden park to get to Avondale, and surprisingly we are all still alive. We played a lot of beer pong, me and Jamie being partners. We were awesome. Undefeated.
Saturday was more chill. We watched the embarrassment of a SU football game on TV earlier in the evening and by the end of the game (which started at 6:30pm in our defense) we were pregaming hardcore. I had some rum and coke, Sharleen some jack and coke. Once we were sufficiently buzzed and clothed, we made our way to north campus for a party at Delta Chi, a house that is not very easy to find. This party was also the doing of Thomas. We figured we should make an appearance, because the trek is not easy and there will be many occasions where we wimp out for weather-related reasons. So we toughed out the rain and had an overall good time. We were very drunk Saturday. There was less travel, but more drinking, plus Friday night we only did beer. Not the case on Saturday.
Yesterday we did basically nothing. I did some reading, but that was interspersed with watching movies on TV. It's easy to get distracted from a law textbook when My Best Friend's Wedding is on, followed by Miss Congeniality. I blame TBS.
I'm excited for this coming weekend. Saturday is the first SU football home game, even though we will get killed. And Sunday is the return of my boys, the Patriots!!!! I'm so excited for my boys.
And on a sadder note, Jon Lester, 22 year old pitcher for the Red Sox, was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. My prayers are with his family. Also, R.I.P. Steve Irwin.
