I'm In!!

Can you believe Suffolk Law School wants to give me $15,000 to come to their school? The girl who, just last night, dressed up like a pirate and got in sword fights while drinking lots of rum? Well, they do.

It's not my first choice, but they are the first to accept me, so it's nice to know that there's a plan for next year. I'm no longer in limbo about my future. I will be attending law school somewhere.

The past few days have been amazing. I am loving my friends more and more everyday and it makes me so much sadder to think that it's almost over and I won't be seeing them and being with them on a daily to weekly basis. I'm not thinking about it, however. I'm living the motto: "Do it now, because in a few months, this will be considered alcoholism." Those are words for a college senior to live by.

Last night, if anyone was confused by the pictures, was a pirate party and it was so much fun. We just screwed around having sword fights and playing beer pong and flip cup and just being stupid. The roommate took it a bit far and got sick, so I had to play mom for a bit, but overall was a great night.

But, I can't act like this the rest of the semester. I went out four straight nights and drank on three of them. Not healthy. This week was a definite exception, I never do that, and I won't do it again, I'm exhausted. But, I couldn't pass up the pirate party.

I saw Babel on Thursday. It was outstanding. It was very powerful and definitely makes you think about people and the depersonalization of politics. The world isn't black and white, there are lots of gray areas and our political system needs to acknowledge that and be more understanding and more open-minded. I wasn't going to see the movie because of my newly established hatred of Brad Pitt because he sucks at life, but it looked too good to pass up. It was very well done and Brad looked old in the movie, so that made me feel better too.

Looking ahead: Tuesday is the big Notre Dame basketball game. We have to win, it's a requirement, otherwise I will be very upset. Friday, Sovy is coming up and I haven't seen him since he visited in Novemberish, and I'm used to seeing him a few days a week, so I'm glad he'll be coming up. But I need to get ahead in my reading so I can start working on some papers, especially the thesis because my acceptance to law school is contingent on me graduating and me graduating is contingent on me finished my thesis. Funny how that works...

More pirate pictures are in the facebook albums.... arg!

OH NO!

My boys lost yesterday and that makes me incredibly sad. I know it's unreasonable to expect to win the Super Bowl every year but... What made me more frustrated was that all my friends (non-pats fans, that is) wanted them to lose. I think that's dumb, I want your team to win until they face mine, so share the love. I know it's petty, but still, pissed me off.

Anywho, I'll get over it soon. I worked some frustration off at the gym today. I never exercise and with my Monday/Wednesday/Fridays completely open, I decided I should start working out anyway, at least until I get a job (hopefully).

I got an e-mail from Boston College saying my application was complete and that I will hear from them in 6-8 weeks. So by early to mid-March, I should know from them, and I assume that all the other places I applied should be completing my application soon. The reason, for anyone wondering, that the application was "complete" when I sent it, is that I'm applying online. Part of doing that requires the law schools to request a status report from the website of my membership which includes my transcript and LSAT scores. The application is complete once the report and my application and matched and put in front of the admissions committee.

I love all my classes this semester! I haven't had one yet, but that's later today and I know I'm going to love it. It's the history of primetime television... what's not to like? Yoga is amazing, of course. And with my decision to do the gym on M/W/F, I'll be exercising 5 days a week and hopefully be super skinny by graduation (or at least in good shape, I'm reasonable). LOL

So, to sum up. Sports suck and I hate that all my teams are losing. Patriots are done, Celtics suck (tho I hate the NBA), Bruins suck (tho I also hate the NHL), SU basketball doesn't suck, but they lost yesterday to a terrible team, and Red Sox sucked last time they played. Miserable. Go New England Revolution. Oh, and I am so buying tickets when and if the LA Galaxy come to Foxborough. I want to see Beckham! Random, I know.

Oh, and for anyone who is randomly reading this and hasn't seen the haircut on facebook (oh, how cute am I? I think people read this!)... anyway, here it is:
The first is a picture of me with the roommate and the other is me being a dork with Phoebe. Those were taken Friday night at the bar.

A Couple of Things...

1) Sent out 4 of the 5 law school applications earlier today. I'm waiting on the BU one because I need more info from Syracuse before I can send it out. I'm hoping the Arts&Sciences office is open so I can do it tomorrow, if not, it will have to wait until next week, or possibly later.

2) My camera was fixed. I sent it to the Casio Repair office in New Jersey and payed nearly $140 to have it fixed. It's worth it though. I love my camera and I definitely missed having it for Christmas and New Year's Eve.

3) The holidays were fun. I got a new iPod and a bunch of gift cards. I definitely made out well. New Year's Eve was a blast. I went into the city with friends, had a great dinner, then went to Lir where we got in without cover because of my "connections" (my brother). As it also worked out, we only payed for maybe 2 rounds of at least 5. We were definitely not expecting that, least of all me, I know my brother and that could not have been his doing.

Tomorrow is going to be fun, I'm going to see the UMaine/ULowell hockey game. I'm going with a UMainer, so it'll be a great time. We're actually going Saturday as well. Then Sunday is the big time playoff game for my Patriots. We better win, because it's against the Jets and I'm seeing a Jets fan later that night...
