I'm a Celtics fan, as a disclaimer:
9:39 p.m. -- (I'm posting times for two reasons, to prove I am updating this several times and because Blogger's time is sometimes way off)
So, the first quarter just ended, Celtics 23 Lakers 21. It's a bit too close for comfort. Also, I'm very annoyed. Not at the play or the officiating, thought I would rather we be up 45-0... I'm annoyed at the announcers. I'm always annoyed at announcers, but especially when they can't stop talking about how frickin' awesome the other team is. During the Cleveland series, I was considering going to the garden just to kill the announcers if I heard one more time about how amazing Lebron was... ANYWAY, back to my point:
All they ever talk about is how Kobe is this and Kobe is that (essentially he's a god if I'm understanding them properly). Now, I'll admit, he's good... however, I read the documents from the rape case. And yes, he was acquitted, but he was acquitted because he was Kobe and his lawyers successfully turned the victim into a depressed, money-grubbing whore in the eyes of the jury. Seriously people, I read the documents. KOBE CONCEDES THE FACT THAT THE GIRL INITIALLY SAID NO AND THEN
HE PUT HIS HAND AROUND HER THROAT AND GOT RIGHT IN HER FACE IN AN EFFORT TO PERSUADE HER OTHERWISE. After that, he says she consented. But seriously, if a large, black man put his hand around my throat and then got in my face and told me to have sex with him, i'd spread 'em too.
My point is this: Kobe is a sketchy dude, why is the NBA marketing him as the face of the league? He should be in jail and the only reason he isn't is because of sketchy tactics and his fame.
As of the end of this rant, the second quarter has started and the score is now Celtics 29, Lakers 24 and Cassell is now playing. He's an alien and a ball hog, but he just scored, so whatev. Back at the half...
9:52 p.m. -- I had to come back earlier...hehe, look what i found:

10:22 -- So it's halftime, Lakers 51, Celtics 46 and I have a few thoughts:
The Garden is practically s i l e n t how is this possible??? allowed??? This is what happens when you jack up the price of tickets and give half away to business bigwigs: home court advantage is gone. I went to Game 2 of the Atlanta series. Far less important and a much worse team and the Garden was deafening every time Atlanta got the ball, and this lasted the ENTIRE game! How is it silent right now??? Unacceptable!!
Also, I now officially hate ABC. Going to commercial break in the 2nd quarter, they had the balls to play out to the music of the song "I love LA." Seriously??? I don't know if that's the song's actual name, but song literally says "I love LA." Now, to their credit, they cut it off before it said "LA," but I'm not stupid, I know that song. Fuck you, ABC
Turnovers: not okay. The Celtics have too many, and as much as I love him, too many by Rajon Rondo. And now I have to listen to this Lakers lovefest on the halftime show.... back to my rant. There are too many turnovers, too many missed shots, too many fouls, and too many missed rebounds. We are a bigger team than the Lakers, there is no reason why we should be missing rebounds. We need to stop assuming the ball is going in and have some people under the net to pick up the miss!
I think that's it for my rant for now, but trust me, I'll have more, especially if we continue to lose. I hope Doc wakes the troops up (oh, God, depending on Doc)... Geez, Stewart Scott just gave a stat saying that everytime Phil Jackson's Lakers have gone up 1-0 in the Finals, they've won the series... shoot me, we better win or I quit.
Here's an in-game photo courtesy of Reuters and Boston.com:

By the way, if this photo is what I think it is, Ray passes it between those two guys to Rondo and then Rondo misses the dunk.... of course, they called a foul and Rondo hit both shots, but still, annoying!
10:48 -- Paul Pierce is hurt, and by the looks and bleeped out sounds of it, it's not good. He couldn't even leave the court without the help of a wheelchair. He's gotta be out of the rest of this game, if not the series, sooooo, game over, series over. This sucks, I hate LA.
Here's a lovely and terrifying shot, and no, the net is not on him (I originally was like, huh? It's just the angle of the shot).

10:55 -- Out on a wheelchair, 5 minutes later, out skipping. And now he's about to come back int the game and we're back in the lead by 1 (with another free throw for the Celtics coming after the timeout). I am so confused, and relieved. And the crowd is back in it, thank God.
11:12 -- End of third quarter Celtics 77, Lakers 73

A much better quarter, especially considering half our team is playing on crutches. I'd still like less fouls (Pierce has 4 alone, and you're out after 6). My comments after this quarter are much like previous, except more optimistic. I just hope we can hold on and nobody fouls out...
11:28 -- GET SAM CASSELL THE ALIEN OFF THE COURT
11:38 -- A couple minutes ago, Ray Allen dribbled the ball off his foot. How does that happen in the NBA? I suck at basketball and yet, when I do play, I have never done that. We are finding incredible ways to try and give this game away. However, Sam Cassel is finally on the bench, I better not see that alien on the court again (how great was that photo I found?). Additionally, we are up by 6 (thought a free throw for the Lakers is on the way). Little more than 3 minutes left. I hope I can end this post on a happy note (please!).
11:54 -- CELTICS WIN! CELTICS WIN! Celtics 98, Lakers 88... This is very exciting! Pierce was carried off the court and came back a few minutes later and just dominated. I hope we can keep this up and thankfully there isn't a game again until Sunday, so Pierce will be better. This was very impressive, mostly because for the most part, I think we played terribly. We had our moments, but there were a lot of mistakes.
Beat LA! Beat LA!
