Here's what's going on in the next week or so:
Saturday, June 13: Lobsterbake in Shrewsbury (graduation party-style)
Tuesday, June 16: Red Sox v. Marlins with Jen (see first start by John Smoltz?)
Wednesday, June 17: Red Sox v. Marlins with Sharleen
Thursday, June 18: Dinner with Jenn
Friday, June 19: New Kids on the Block concert in Mansfield, MA
Friday-Sunday, June 26-28: Amy comes to visit (events include the Aquarium and Lost in Paris show)
While all this is going on, I also need to do my homework, go to class, get my resume stuff together and start studying for the MPRE. I can't wait until this quarter is over already!
Good news: Yesterday I got a new phone. It's an adorable, pink Blackberry Curve. I'm still adjusting, but I'm in love.
Also, right after I got my new phone, it rang and it was the woman in charge of internships at the RCFP (Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press). I had sent my information to them months ago and I thought they were done, but turns out they are just getting to it. She pretty much sprung a phone interview on me (asked a lot of questions about my time in Syracuse). At the end, I wasn't offered a job, but it felt like it was going there so I had to tell her that I could no longer take a fall internship from them, as I've realized I really need to be in Boston for fall firm recruitment stuff. If I want a firm job in Boston, I have to be here in September in October, and the RCFP is in Virginia.
However, I did tell her I'm interested in coming in the Spring, which is true. And she encouraged me to send my information then and she told me they were very impressed with my credentials. Hearing that made my week because I'm a bit insecure about my resume, so it's nice to hear that it impressed somebody. And it's nice to hear that Newhouse does hold some weight out there like they were telling me in college!
